This article shows you how to generate personalized supplement recommendations for a client using VitaPlan AI. You’ll learn how to select a client, configure the recommendation parameters, and save the results to the client’s care plan.

Step‑By‑Step Guide

  1. Open the Supplement Recommendations page
- From the left navigation pane, click “Nutrition”“Supplement Recommendations.”

  1. Select the client
- Click the “Select Client” dropdown at the top of the page.

- Type the client’s name or ID, then click the matching entry.

- The client’s profile summary appears on the right.

  1. Start a new recommendation
- Press the blue “Create Recommendation” button in the top‑right corner.

  1. Choose the recommendation type
- In the “Recommendation Type” radio group, select “Personalized” (default) or “Standard Protocol.”

- If you choose “Personalized,” additional fields appear for diet preferences and lab results.

  1. Configure supplement criteria
- a. Click “Add Supplement” to open the supplement selector.

- b. Use the search bar to find specific ingredients (e.g., “Omega‑3”).

- c. Set the dosage, frequency, and duration for each supplement using the numeric fields and dropdowns.

- d. Click the green “+ Add” button to insert the supplement into the list.

- Repeat steps a‑d for each supplement you want to include.

  1. Review AI‑generated rationale
- After you add the first supplement, VitaPlan AI automatically generates a short rationale in the “AI Rationale” pane.

- Edit the text if needed, or click “Regenerate” to get a new suggestion.

  1. Set the recommendation schedule
- In the “Start Date” field, pick the date the client should begin the regimen.

- Choose “Repeat Monthly” or “One‑Time” from the “Frequency” dropdown.

  1. Add notes for the client (optional)
- Type any additional instructions or education points in the “Client Notes” textbox.
  1. Save the recommendation
- Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom of the modal.

- A confirmation toast appears: “Supplement recommendation saved successfully.”

- The new recommendation now shows in the “Current Recommendations” table for that client.

- In the “Current Recommendations” table, click the three‑dot “More Options” icon next to the recommendation you just created.

- Choose “Export PDF” to download a printable version, or “Share via Email” to send it directly to the client.
